Go West Young Man!

After Christmas we started our Journey West.  First stop Talahassee!  We used our recripricol membership to go to the Challenger Science Center - ummm - basically a glorified IMax and not a lot of science.  We asked for suggestions of where else to go and they suggested the Museum of Florida History - holy cow totally worth it - and free to boot ;)  We had a great time, it was very informative and engaging.
Things started outside with this amazing sculpture of three different native families through time.
Inside they had a number of different exhibits from giant armadillos to mammoth bones!
Gherkin and KimChee had a blast in a section they called "Grandma's Attic".  Sweet keeps crossing her fingers that band is in their future but they aren't to pleased.

They also had a good WWII section since much of the Naval aviation training happened in Florida. It was awesome to see this period CG ensign.

Their special exhibit was on surfing so Gherkin and KimChee caught some waves.

They also had a good section on tourism in Florida.  It was interesting to see how post war folks started coming here in their home built RV's or Tin Can Trailers.
It was totally worth the stop and if you have the opportunity don't miss it!
