Dinosaur 2/3 - Colorado Canyon

We spent our second day on the East side of the park in Colorado which is a very different picture than the West side.  The day was all about the canyon rim.
The boys did really well on the canyon rim hike on BLM land.  We had an interesting time trying to explain to the boys the different departments of the government and who takes care of what why.
The hike ended at the point just about in the middle of the picture.  Then we looped back to head up a little further in elevation.

We got up to the canyon rim viewpoint.  This only covers one third of the canyon floor.
As we drove around we found a snow bank.  The boys were super excited for snow!!!

We drove up as far as we could before they had the road closed for snow and the boys played int he snow for a while and had a snowball fight with Dill!
On the way back the weather started to turn.  It was amazing to see the bands of rain from a distance.
One more stop for Pickles in Dinosaur, CA!  Too bad it was closed.
