Bend 4/4 - Fort Rock Historical Museum

We had plans to see the rest of Newberry National Volcanic Monument but the weather had other plans.  Well, the weather over the winter.  The road out to the crater itself and Paulina Lake were closed due to the fact they still had 4 feet of snow.  Instead we detoured and headed less than an hour south and east to Fort Rock.  Their historic museum is similar to the Log Cabin Village we visited in Dallas where they have gathered buildings from around the area and made a museum village.  The area is named after a local geologic formation.
With the help of grants and donations they have an amazing collections of period pieces.
You can enter every single one of the buildings. The church can even be rented for weddings!
Even though school is out for our summer the boys got into the action.

Probably one our best spur of the moment choices of a place to go.  Off to our last adventure!
