Nashville - Part 2 of 3

We took a day off from school and went into the city to do a trolley tour.  It was nice to have someone else drive around to all the places we wanted to see.  We went down to the Farmers Market again to listen to the carillon bells and scope out the Tennessee State Museum to see if we wanted to come back.  Since it was the Lunar New Year we picked up a little KimBap to celebrate.
KimChee in his happy place!

BLT anyone?
After lunch we got on the trolley again and went to the old Marathon Factory where Antique Archeology of American Pickers fame has a store.
Interesting Motorcycle sign in the store

They have a number of the belt lines and tools still filling the halls of the old factory

Short lived for making autos (darn Ford)
Nashville likes to call itself Athens for all the Universities in the area.  For the Centennial Celebration they built a plaster Parthenon which then later was made in cement to preserve.  Those of you who have seen the Percy Jackson Movies might recognize the building.

They had some of the props from the movie!
Sculpture of Athena
We closed out the trolley tour downtown with a stop at the GooGoo Cluster shop to get a little home town snack!
On a side note - we did end up going back to the State museum a few days later.  It was amazing!  Sweet was gifted with a personal tour of the quilt exhibit they were opening the next day.  Wish there were pictures but no such luck.
