We decided to take the free ferry south to Okacroke Island. Little did we know it was the 300th anniversary of Blackbeard's demise. The place was swimming in pirates.

The horses of Okacroke are penned for their safety unlike the ones further north.
The sea was not quite as welcoming today.

We took a hike through the dunes to see how vegetation is different as you move further from the salt spray.

Then onto the ferry to head back. Our buddies of course were along for the ride!
