Tillicum Village

While Big D was home for this time we worked hard on checking off some of the things on our "To Do before leaving Seattle" list.  One of them was to head to Tillicum Village.  It made for a neat experience but lots of time on boats since we had to take the ferry into Seattle and then a 45 min trip on the tour boat to the island.
Note forehead healing!
We passed Alki Point in West Seattle on the way to Blake Island.  I heard a rumor that it is the Coast Guard District commander housing.
Alki Point Lighthouse
We finally made it to the island and Gherkin was more than ready to disembark the boat.
We're here - can I get off the boat yet?
Our view from the boat - the large building in the center was where all the festivities were.
The Village
We were greeted with cups of clams and it is encouraged to toss the shells onto the path where they are crushed.  Gherkin thought this was a great plan.
Clam Shell Stomping!
We waited a bit to be seated for dinner.  I wish we had wandered a bit more at this time because by the time we finished dinner it was dark outside and you couldn't see the island at all.
Climbing
Dinner was a salmon bake!  Very tasty and surprisingly large portions.
Dinner!
Diner and a show what more could you ask for?
After dinner we tried to walk a bit - only to be challenged by the pitch black.  Back onto the boat and then a walk to the ferry.  It was a late night but very worth it!
