July Flies By!
July started off with a bang this year. We got together with some friends for a 4th of July picnic. Gherkin had a blast playing with his "twin brother" Little Sir.
After the picnic we came home for some festivities of our own. Gherkin was quite excited about the impending sparklers!
Gherkin and Big D kept a watchful eye on the sparklers.
Gherkin has taken to being a little daredevil. His new favorite is to walk down our retaining wall and jump off the end. I think the shirt sums it all up!
Water play is a new experience this summer. Although as the season goes on he is much happier to empty the pool into the watering can to water Mommy's garden he still splashes about a bit. We have started evening swim lessons so hopefully that will help.
One of the highlights of July was having the younger sister of some of our sponsor cadets come and spend the night with us before going to AIM (Academy Introduction to the Mission) She had a blast and it was great to see her smiling after the tough week!
