On our trip from North Dakota to South Dakota Sweet noticed something on the map.

| HWY's under construction don't warrant big signs - almost missed this one! |
We would be passing by the geographical center of the US. We thought this was pretty cool and something neat to know. Then we pulled out the smart phone and found out that the Geocenter is a post in the middle of some farmer's field 8 miles off the HWY on a gravel road but the town of Belle Fourche 20 miles south had created a monument!

They had a great little local history museum from dinosaurs, to early settlers, to ranching.
