Gherkin has always been a fan of Easter...
This year he was really interested in dying eggs. They had done it at school and was excited to see what he could do at home. We did a little science (goodness knows Mom can't waste a teaching opportunity) about time in the dye and how dark it would be.

Serious Egg Master |
At first he would just dip and go. By the end he set the time for 20 minutes to see how dark it could get - I think that is the blue one on the top row

Final Product |
Gherkin had some serious opinions about the EB this year. I'm not sure where all the ideas came from but he was sure the EB would do everything he had outlined...
First of all EB was not to come into his room but was to leave him a gift in his mailbox outside his door.

Guess what part he ate first? |
Next the EB needed to help him finish a Lego creation that he was frustrated with. He left out the portion he had finished as well as the directions and parts bins. He also left out a plate of carrots for EB to munch on while working.

Finished Car - Thanks EB!!! |
When he went to bed he left two baskets full of eggs ready for EB because "He needs to fill the eggs and hide them." He was a little concerned when he woke up to see that the eggs were gone but he could not see any but was pretty excited with a full Easter basket.

Due to the weather concerns we often have here the EB was delayed till after church to decide whether eggs would be outside or inside. Thank heaven for beautiful Easter weather!!!

On the Hunt! |
His cousin KR joined in the hunt. They were assigned different color eggs and the EB did a good job of keeping them at eye level for the respective hunters.

Smiles from KR :) |

More hunting! |
Then it was time for the long awaited opening. Our EB does not believe in candy so Gherkin's eggs were full of puzzle pieces and a Lego set. Thank goodness he found all the eggs :)

We had a wonderful Easter dinner and were joined by Uncle A, Auntie V, Amma, Poppie,
S, KR, GMA A and Daddy Clown. Big D was sorely missed but Gherkin packed him a care box before he left with candy for the crew and a few fun things for Big D. Happy Easter - He is Risen indeed!!!
