Home Safe in the Sound
Big D is finally home safe and sound after a very long trip. This time we were able to head up to Point No Point to see the boat come in. It takes about 2 hours for the boat to get from Point No Point to the pier in Seattle so we have time to catch the ferry and meet the boat. It was a bit foggy and windy when we got there so we hunkered down in front of a large driftwood structure.
A couple was nice enough to take a photo of Gherkin and Mommy with the Midgett in the background. Big D told us later that he was glad I had put Gherkin in his museum shirt because he could spot us easily.
Gherkin headed into the structure and started digging.
Soon what we were waiting for arrived. Gherkin tried to run out and meet the boat but I reminded him that he could not walk on water. (It must run in the family since Uncle A tried to once as well).
We caught the Bainbridge Ferry and were pleasantly surprised to get to watch the boat come all the way in - it even crossed our path and came along side.

One very happy boy to have his Daddy home!
Big D's comment as he climbed into bed the first night home..."Ahhh, soft bed that's not moving and no fog horn!"
