Friday Field Trip - Port of Play

The community of Astoria has just combined their indoor play space with the Children's Museum. Resulting in Captain Gray's Port of Play! There are a whole collection of ride on toys, exhibits and fun things to do. Very important in rainyville! Gherkin started out with some of the ride on toys. We can't bribe the kid to wear his helmet at home but he was quick to put one on here.
He got a little tired with all the running around so took a quick self imposed time out.
Up to the exhibits where he did his best to be a National Park Ranger at Fort Clatsop (wait for tomorrows post for more info there).
He even went to sea!
He also spent a lot of time in the fire station. The Children's Museum used to be housed in the old fire station in town so they have a great collection of boots, hats, jackets and gloves. We got as far as the coat and hat and called it good.
What a great adventure! Gherkin had lots of fun. I think if we visit more in the winter we will be spending much of our time at Port of Play!
