Fort Clatsop and a Little Catch Up

Fort Clatsop recently became part of the Lewis and Clark National Park. In recent years it has burned down, been re-built and celebrated 200 years since Lewis and Clark were there.

We decided it was time to visit and see the logs that Amma and Poppie helped hune for the new fort. Not to mention giving Gherkin some time to run!We took a walk down to the canoe launch to see what we could see.
Standing watch in the sentry's house.
Now for a little catch-up. After much frustration our riding lawn mower is finally up and running! Many, many thanks to our neighbor! I spent an afternoon (only 1.25 hrs rather than the 2.5-3 with the push mower) getting the lawn cut before we headed down to Oregon. For some reason our neighborhood boys decided that the lawn needed to be raked so they could make a huge grass pile. Boys will be boys. It's a little American Gothic?
Gherkin now likes to show of his muscles - he even built dumbbells out of tinker toys!
