Obsessive?

One of Amma's favorite comments over the holiday was "Gherkin is a bit obsessive (pause) not that that's a bad thing." Obsessive...nah. Just determined, result driven - right. Some examples of Gherkin's "obsessive" behavior.
1. When he is finished with the part of the meal on his tray he will give us the container and then continue to remove any stray pieces one by one to our hand till the tray is clean.

2. Big D bought an 8 pack of a sports drink and gave me one. Gherkin took all the bottles from the mud room and lined them up in the living room - and then took mine to add to the collection.

3. If he is in the right mood - preferably not right before bed - he will carefully place all his blocks in the correct storage container. Making sure that alpha blocks are not mixed with shape blocks.

The Special Ed Teacher side of me starts a mild panic when reviewing this...OCD, AUTISM! But then I start the list of all the other behaviors that would go along with these disorders and realize... He's my child! Since Uncle A's favorite phrase for me is "The Anal Retentive One" I suppose it had to be passed down some way.

More adventures today...

As promised photos of the play structure conquering!

In other "Adventures in Gherkin" stories for the day. Gherkin, strangely like Uncle A, has an affinity for small tomatoes. Very long story short... Gherkin decided today that lunch would primarily be grape tomatoes. It was all fine and good till he decided to stuff 3 in at a time. I will spare you the aftermath photos - use your imagination.

These pictures are pretty great! We call it fixation. It's funny how things need to be "just so."
