Charleston, SC - A history lesson

We have done history lessons on the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 now it's time for another lesson on the Civil War - the start of the Civil War to be exact.  34 + hours of bombardment upon Ft. Sumter was the official start of 4 years of Civil War fighting.

 The Black line on this flag pole is the mark of the original height of the walls of the fort.  As technology and needs have changed the structure of the fort has changed since the 1800's.

 The boys completed yet another ranger badge. Due to the low light conditions to protect the flag not the best photo of their swearing in.  Gherkin is getting burned out on Ranger Badges, we requested that he do this one since in his school work right now he is reading "Across Five Aprils"
