Our Nation's Capitol

As we work our way down the East Coast the next logical stop was our Nation's Capitol.  We have actually been taking it rather easy here.  Maybe because some of us have been here a number of times, maybe because we are 100+ days into this trip and finally settling into a routine and realize we need downtime, maybe because it's been wicked cold!!!

Day one we hung out with our friends of Connor the Cutter fame!  If you don't have these books yet for your kids, grand kids, neighbors or yourself you are missing out!!!

Day 2 brought the Air and Space museum.  In a discussion with friends later we talked about how it was a museum of museums.  It was opened in 1976 and really hasn't changed or been dusted since.

Day 3 brought a splurge - Medieval Times.  Dinner Theater, eating with your hands, crowns - what more could you ask for.  We ended up with the rogue knight!!!
Don't let Gherkin's face deceive you - he had a blast!

Hard to catch photos in dark light with fast horses.
Day 3 also brought injury to the little one.  Gherkin and KimChee were riding bikes and KimChee tire checked his brother and ended up landing on his face.  Gherkin was an awesome big brother and took care of him.
Day 4 - National Zoo!!!  Time for some animals.  We commemorated our close encounter with the bison and got to see the Panda's out and about!
