Sea to Shining Sea Days 4+5

When people ask me about my childhood summers I usually tell them about all my camping experiences.  Usually one of two stories comes up, the freezing, yellow jacket infested summer at Suttle Lake or the "Brookings Incident" as our family calls it.  The "Brookings Incident" involved our family tent, you know, the one that was actually my grandparent's canvas tent from 1950.  It also involved being in Brooking on the wettest day in history and there were only two tarps left in town because everybody's tents were leaking.  Lets just say our two days in St. Louis very quickly could have become the "St. Louis Incident"  It rained, it rained buckets, it rained some more.  But we did get in some time at some amazing locations.

Big D got in on the climbing

Mommy should have walked away, bruises on the knees and bum from the spaces that got way to small for adults!
Home Sweet Home for two nights!
When Amma and Poppie got ready to leave their shoes filled with water because they were dredging through puddles to disconnect.  We had a few puddles in the bottom of the tent but stayed dry for the most part.

Lesson learned: you aren't required to climb through it just because it is there.
