Stepping Stones and Toys?
One of the local nurseries was doing free stepping stones in preparation for Mothers Day. Amma, Gherkin and I decided it would be best if we headed out to make some garden art for Amma's house. Now you know that stepping stone making is very serious business.
Gherkin got all excited about putting his hands into the concrete. Amma was a bit worried about him placing his hands right in his mouth to taste the concrete but that disaster was averted.
Once he got the feel of wet concrete on his hands he was hooked - after washing off his hands he wanted to add fingerprints all the way around the stone. It meshed nicely with the green stained glass we had circling his hand prints.
As the parent of a young active child you must modify your definition of Toy. Believe me, something you buy from the store does not always make the best toy. Gherkin spent almost 20 minutes last night bouncing, climbing and otherwise trying to burn of energy on.....
A garbage bag full of carpet padding. We are in the process of removing all the carpet from Amma & Grandpa D's house. In the next couple of weeks we will be installing bamboo floor in the dining room and wool carpet in the living room. In order for that to happen all nastiness must be removed. At this point I need a thesaurus for new words for gross but lets just say the last owners tracked lots of sand and had an ooky cat - 'nuf said.
