After a long break I decided it was time to catch up on the blog (yes, I know you have heard this from be before). We had a very busy fall and I might post some photos from that at a later date but here's our January Adventure for 2014!
We have had some crazy weather here in VA. Lots more snow than expected!!! Still we had to go inland a bit to find a ski hill (no matter what the locals say that thing is not a mountain!). We headed to Harrisonburg near the Shanandoah Valley over the weekend.
Our first stop was the Children's museum! Big D headed up the hill to get us tubing tickets for the afternoon so Gherkin and Mom went to the museum. Gherkin had a lot of fun.

In the afternoon we went up to Massanutten Snow Park for some Tubing time. Gherkin lasted for about an hour of our 2 hour block - it was wicked cold!!!

On Sunday we had plans to drive the lower portion of the Skyline Drive of the Shandoah Valley. It was not to be had - the road was packed snow and ice. So we were allowed to go up to the bottom of the road and play in the snow. Gherkin and Big D had a great time!

Our trip home was more of an adventure than expected with Gherkin getting sick and then the rest of us followed in the week to come. Finally we are all feeling a little better and ready for the adventures of February!
